Rugby Borough Into Coventry Charity Cup Final

Rugby Borough FC are into the Coventry City Charity Cup Final.

The Leicestershire Senior League team took on Coventry Alliance side Coventry Colliery in the second semi-final again kindly hosted by Coventry Sphinx in front of a good crowd.

Rugby took the lead in the 25th minute thanks to Josh Turton sending a right footed shot into the net. Their lead lasted for twelve minutes as Colliery equalised when Luke Sanders scored at the far post.

 

Six minutes into the second half and Rugby were back in front after Ben Nicholson slid in to score. They added to that in the 66th minute when Josh Turton rose to head home and although Colliery netted in the 93rd minute through Luke Hand, Rugby took the win 3-2 and booked their place in the Final against Coventry Alvis on May 22nd at the Ricoh Arena.
